Providing wine enthusiasts and professionals the systematic training and education in viticulture, vinification, wine business and appreciation. Offering various certifications focusing on either wine service or wine appreciation.
This qualification provides a basic introduction to the main styles of wines available to front-line staff involved in the service or sale of wine. The qualification aims to provide the basic product knowledge and skills in the storage and service of wines required to prepare a person for their first job in wine hospitality or retail.
This qualification offers broad coverage of all product categories in the field of alcoholic drinks, grape varieties, major wine producing countries, grape growing and wine making, together with the theory of tasting technique. At each session there will be a lineup of wines to highlight the learning objectives with almost 50 wines tasted from many countries and grape varieties during the course.
There is no prerequisite to attend the Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits, although we recommend that students should have acquired some basic knowledge prior to attending the course (perhaps gained from our Level 1 Award in Wines or attending some of our Tutored Tastings or Workshops). Once you obtain the Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits qualification, you can apply to use the WSET Certified logo.
This course is intended to provide in-depth knowledge of a wide range of wines and spirits and is open to students who hold the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits or can demonstrate knowledge at intermediate level through completion of equivalent courses or sufficient experience in the wine and spirit industry.
This qualification is also suitable for the wine enthusiast wishing to build on knowledge gained at Level 2. It covers different wine regions in greater details and students will learn how to blind taste wines to identify their types and origins. Throughout the entire 14-lesson course, individuals would be able to taste more than 85 wines to gain the wine experience. Although there is no prerequisite to attend WSET Level 3 Award in Wines and Spirits (QCF), we advise that students should have completed the Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits course (Level 2) or other equivalent courses.
Once you obtain the Level 3 Award in Wines and Spirits qualification, you can apply to use the WSET Certified logo.
